Description
Saturday 19th July from 10am til 1:30pm
Learn those all important basic sewing machine skills while you make a shoulder bag. Everything is provided!
Who is this class for? Beginners – and more advanced. If you have never used a sewing machine before or have very little experience, or you find your own sewing machine just ‘scary’ – this is for you. More advanced – If you have sewing skills, but haven’t done any sewing for a long time and would like to do something fun, you are also most welcome to join. It’s always good to learn more sewing tips.
Fabric: to be confirmed but there will be options to choose from – an outdoor fabric that is quite stiff/robust, or a good cotton. Once I get a selection I can message you to choose what you’d like to make your bag from.
Measurements of finished bag: 45cm wide, 62cm long
Everything is included, so come on your own or with a friend. Only 4 spaces so book early to avoid disappointment.
The first hour of the class is spent covering an ‘induction’ of the sewing machine. You’ll practise the basics:
– threading up
– changing the needle
– changing the bobbin
– winding the bobbin
– straight and top stitching
– pivoting around a corner
As well, you’ll gain lots of tips of what you can do to help yourself with your own machine at home.
AND you’ll make a fun shoulder bag.
The purpose of the workshop is to show you how much fun you can have sewing – to make something useful – and to feel more confident about using a sewing machine.
Everything is provided included tea, coffee and biscuits.
Time: 10am til 1:30 pm Tea & Coffee & biscuits provided.
Fee: £65
